The OrigenDx™ Newborn Genetic Screen is ideal for newborns and children up to 5 years old. Screening for 355 inherited disorders with a combined prevalence rate of 1 in 400 births, OrigenDx™ strives for early detection, referral, and treatment of babies identified as having a high risk for these conditions.

A small sample will be taken by pricking the baby’s heel, or by buccal swab/saliva collection. This can be done before the baby leaves the hospital (usually 1–2 days of age) or anytime up to 5 years old.

Babies with genetic disorders may appear normal at birth, with symptoms emerging only later—sometimes irreversibly. Many of these conditions can be treated if detected early. OrigenDx™ identifies a broad range of disorders, including:

• Organic acid metabolism disorders – improper breakdown of food, leading to toxic buildup

Unlike single-gene or small hotspot panels, PreciseDX™ analyzes hundreds of clinically actionable biomarkers in one test. It simultaneously assesses DNA and RNA alterations—including SNVs, CNVs, indels, fusions, and splice variants—while also measuring tumor mutational burden (TMB) and microsatellite instability (MSI). This provides a much broader view of a patient’s genomic profile.

Unlike standard health checks that may rely on imaging or symptoms, CancerScreenDx™ looks for circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in your blood — genetic traces shed by cancer cells. This means it can flag potential cancer presence earlier and more specifically, sometimes even before symptoms appear.

If ctDNA signals are detected, the results include a Cancer Origin Prediction (COP™), which helps point to where the cancer may have started. This guides your doctor on the next steps for diagnosis — such as imaging, biopsy, or other confirmatory tests.

The process is simple and convenient. Once the test is ordered, a blood or saliva sample is collected using approved methods in a sterile environment to prevent contamination. The sample is then sent to the lab—EDTA blood, buccal swab, saliva, or DNA samples can be mailed at room temperature. Liquid blood remains stable for up to 4 days during transport. After analysis, your results will be returned to you, providing accurate insights into your hereditary cancer risk.
